POSTPONED – SPECIAL EVENT: Depolarizing National Security

As a follow-up to our NSF Forum last March, “Civil Discourse is Essential for National Security,” we are again partnering with Braver Angels to host a vibrant, interactive, and very timely workshop that will teach skills for recognizing and depolarizing our mindsets and provide opportunities to discuss timely national security topics with people who may, or even more important, may not share our perspective.

Rae Huffstutler has a distinguished career in the Intelligence Community. He served as the Executive Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Director of the National Photographic Interpretation Center, and as the Director of Soviet Research at the Agency. Among his many accolades are twice being awarded the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal and in April 2003 he was inducted into the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Hall of Fame for his contributions to imagery collection and intelligence.

Our upcoming event will be our first NSF Forum-Workshop, delving into the basics of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) works, why it is essential to national security, and what are the risks. NSF is very lucky to have two leading AI experts in residence in Reno, Caleb and Rex Briggs.
