Dr. Nagl, General John J. Pershing Professor of Warfighting Studies at the U.S. Army War College, brings both combat experience and deep scholarship to this urgent conversation. In his recent presentations, Dr. Nagl has posed a sobering question: If it is 1938 again, and this time the Czechs are fighting back, what should we do to prepare? June 18, 2025 – Hybrid Forum: Tariffs and Economic Security

Dr. Stan Veuger, Senior Fellow in economic policy at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) will share insight on the complex world of tariffs before and now during the second Trump Administration. I expect he may be editing his slides the morning of the talk. Dr. Stephen Miller (no, not that Stephen Miller!), UNLV Professor of Economics, will bring the tariff issues closer to home with remarks about the impact to Nevada from the current/future (maybe) tariffs.

“Telling Truth from Lies – Misinformation, disinformation, and AI threats to national security,” the theme for the 2025 Youth Security Forum, is particularly timely in today’s climate. AI experts and authors, Rex and Caleb Briggs, will set the stage and lead exercises to stimulate YSF students to discuss threats to national security from disinformation and deepfakes.
