Dear Friends of the Forum and Special Guests,
Our speaker on May 24th, Ambassador Ronald Neumann (ret) will be joining us for a special dinner on May 23rd. Ambassador Ronald Neumann (ret) knows the complexity of war and peace in Afghanistan, having served as U.S. Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan from July 2005 to April 2007. Amb Neumann will share his personal experiences while serving in Afghanistan during this special dinner and during the forum on Friday he will offer his own informed opinion regarding the prospects for an effective U.S. troop withdrawal, leaving a stable and peaceful Afghanistan, and the challenges of reconstructing a country plagued by war for centuries.
Our dinners with special visiting speakers offer the opportunity for you to learn more about our speakers and their topics and to have more extended discussions with some of the leading experts in national security. It is also a chance for you to get better acquainted with other supporters and colleagues from the NSF. We look forward to having you join us for a relaxed and stimulating evening with Ambassador Ronald Neumann
